Ecommerce tracking

Watch shoppers move through your store as it happens: who is in a basket right now, who is in checkout, which orders went through, and who walked away with items still in their cart. The demo above is the real Store dashboard — the screens you get — running on a made-up shop.

The moment you just watched

Somewhere in that dashboard a shopper reached the checkout with a full basket and then stopped. Most analytics tools would file that away as one more visit that ended in nothing, and move on. Modovisa keeps the basket: what was in it, what it was worth, which country and device it came from, and how long ago the shopper went quiet. Half an hour after the last thing they did, they appear in the walked-away list with the amount attached, and you can open the replay of their visit and see what happened in the seconds before they left.

Right now, while it is still happening

The live panel lists the shoppers who are in a basket or a checkout at this moment, each with what is in their basket. It keeps itself up to date, so somebody arriving in checkout appears within a second or two and there is no refresh button to press. From any row you can open their journey and follow them page by page while they are still on the site — which is a very different thing from reading about them tomorrow.

From visit to sale

The funnel counts visits, product views, baskets, checkouts and completed orders, and shows how many people fell away between each. Shoppers reach checkout two ways — some open the cart page first, some go straight there from an add-to-basket button — so you get both numbers in plain words rather than a chart that counts people as lost at a step they never meant to visit.

Every sale, as it lands

Every completed order appears with the order number your store printed, what it was worth, where the shopper was, and how long they took from landing on the site to paying. New orders arrive without a refresh and stay highlighted for a few minutes. It is the same list as the walked-away one, from the other end of the same journey — which is the point: the two are the same shoppers, separated by whatever happened in checkout.

Money is never added up across currencies

A store that prices per market takes money in several currencies, and adding rupees to yen produces a figure that is not an amount anywhere. Modovisa works out the currency for each sale separately and keeps the totals apart, so a store selling in three currencies sees three figures. Where the currency was taken from your storefront rather than sent with the order, the number is marked, so you always know which kind of figure you are reading.

What it needs from your store

The tracking script recognises cart, checkout and order-confirmation pages on its own, so the funnel starts filling in as soon as tracking is live. Order values and order numbers come from what your store reports: the WordPress and WooCommerce plugin sends them without configuration, and a custom storefront sends the amount with the purchase event. Without an amount you still get the funnel, the stages and the timing — you just do not get the money next to them.

Where this sits next to the rest

Store answers what happened in the shop. Live tracking follows one visitor across the whole site, session replay shows their screen, and campaign goals tie a purchase back to the campaign that earned it. It is all one visitor, not four separate reports, so the shopper you spot in checkout here is the same person you can watch there.

Frequently asked questions

Which plan includes this?

The funnel — visits through to completed orders — is on every plan, including Free. Live shoppers, named sales and the walked-away baskets come with Growth at $29.99 a month and above, and with the 21-day trial. Stores on a lower plan get a 21-day Store trial with everything switched on, so you can see your own shop before deciding.

Does it work with WooCommerce and Shopify?

Yes. The WordPress plugin covers WooCommerce, including order numbers and order values, with no code. Shopify and other platforms work through the tracking script, and send the purchase amount with the order event.

When does a basket count as abandoned?

Thirty minutes after the shopper's last activity. Before that they are still treated as being on the site, because plenty of people go and get a coffee mid-checkout and come back. The list also tells you how many abandoners returned and bought within 24 hours.

Can I email the shoppers who left something behind?

Not from Modovisa. This reports what happened and lets you watch it back; it does not collect email addresses or send recovery mail. Your store platform owns the customer relationship, and this tells you which orders are worth chasing and why they stalled.

Do I need to add tracking code to my checkout?

No. The script recognises cart, checkout and thank-you pages by itself. What it cannot invent is the money: the order value and order number have to come from your store, which the WordPress plugin does automatically and a custom site does with one line in its purchase event.

Will the numbers match my store's own reports?

The sales and their values should, because they come from what your store reported. Visit and funnel counts can differ from an ad platform or a tag-manager setup, since those measure sessions their own way. Modovisa counts what happened on your site, first-party, with no sampling.
