Cart nudge
Show a discount code on the page while a shopper is still deciding — not in an email after they have gone. You write the words, paste a code you already created in your store, and set how long to wait. The demo above is the same banner they see.
Why a banner, not another email
While they are still there
The offer appears on the product or cart they are looking at. You do not wait for an abandoned-cart mail that arrives after they have left.
Your code, not ours
Paste a discount you already made in Shopify, WooCommerce or your own checkout. Modovisa does not create coupons or touch billing.
No shopper email
We never collect an address to send recovery mail. That stays with your store or email tool.
On Growth and Store trials
Cart nudge sits with live baskets and walked-away carts — Growth, the account trial, free-forever, or an active Store trial.
What a cart nudge is
A short banner on your shop with a message and a copy-the-code button. It waits until the shopper has actually paused — a few seconds on a product, or as they leave the tab on desktop — so it does not flash on the first glance. One offer per site. You turn it on in Store.
- Different words for a product page, the cart, and checkout if you want them
- A wait you choose, plus a quiet period so the same person is not shown it every click
- Colours, position and shape so it can sit on your theme rather than on top of it
How it decides to show
On a phone it waits for the dwell you set. On a desktop it can also wait for the pointer to leave the window. A holdback keeps a slice of visits without the banner so you can see whether it changed anything. A minimum basket can hide it on a cheap add. None of that emails anyone.
- Dwell on mobile; exit-intent or dwell on desktop
- Hours between shows for the same browser
- Holdback so you are not guessing from a banner that fired on every visit
What it will not do
It is not Klaviyo, not a popup builder, and not a way to message people later. Shopify's hosted checkout is outside the theme, so the banner cannot appear on that last Shopify pay step — product and cart pages on the shop still can. We do not invent a discount: if SAVE10 is not a real code in your store, the copy button still copies it and checkout will reject it.
- No cart-recovery email or SMS
- No creating or editing of store discounts
- No banner on Shopify's hosted checkout page
Where it sits next to Store
Store already shows who is in a basket and who walked away. Cart nudge is the one action you can take in that window: put a code on the page before the visit becomes an abandoned row. Replay and the funnel stay what they were. Turn the nudge off and the shop looks as it did.
Getting started
Open Store in the workspace, write the message, paste the code, set the wait, and switch it on. The tracking script you already installed is what draws the banner — nothing extra to paste for the offer itself.
- Growth at $29.99 a month, or the 21-day account trial
- Stores on Free or Standard get the same Store trial that unlocks live baskets
- Step-by-step in the cart nudge guide
Abandoned-cart email vs cart nudge
Both can use a code. They fire at different moments, and only one of them needs a shopper address.
| Typical recovery email | Modovisa cart nudge | |
|---|---|---|
| When it shows | After they have left, often 30–60 minutes later | On the page, while they are still deciding |
| Needs their email | Yes | No |
| Where they see it | Inbox | The product, cart or (non-Shopify-hosted) checkout |
| Who creates the code | Your ESP or store | Your store — you paste it in |
| What Modovisa stores | — | The message and code you typed, not the shopper |
When teams turn it on
One banner. The useful cases are the ones where the shopper is already looking at the thing.
A slow product page
They read, they do not add. A short wait then a code is cheaper than hoping they come back tomorrow.
A full cart they have not paid
Same visit, last hesitation. The cart copy can mention the basket without you collecting an address.
A launch or sale you already priced
The code exists in the store. The nudge is how people who are on the site now find it without a newsletter.
A holdback check
Leave a slice of visits without the banner. If redeemed stays flat, the copy is the problem, not the wait.
Frequently asked questions
Which plan includes cart nudge?
Growth at $29.99 a month and above, the 21-day account trial, free-forever accounts, and an active Store trial on Free or Standard. The same gate as live baskets and walked-away carts.
Does Modovisa email people who abandon a cart?
No. Cart nudge is on-site only. We do not collect shopper email addresses for messaging. Recovery mail stays with your store or email platform.
Do I need a new tracking script?
No. The script you already use for Store draws the banner. You only set the message and code in the workspace.
Will it work on Shopify checkout?
Not on Shopify's hosted checkout page — that page is outside the theme. Product and cart pages on the shop can still show it.
Can I use different text on the cart and on a product?
Yes. You can write one default message and optional lines for product, cart and checkout.
What if the code is wrong?
The button still copies whatever you pasted. Checkout is your store's job: an unknown code is rejected there, not by Modovisa.
