WooCommerce live visitor tracking and ecommerce analytics
Watch shoppers move through your WooCommerce store as it happens — the product they opened, the basket they filled, the checkout they started and the order that landed — from the same WordPress.org plugin you already install for any WordPress site. Create a free Modovisa account, paste the tracking token, and the thank-you page sends the order total and the printed order number.
Who is in your store right now
Most questions a WooCommerce owner asks are about the last ten minutes rather than last month: who is here, what brought them, which product they are looking at, and whether they are moving toward the checkout or stalling on the way. Modovisa answers those while the visit is still happening, and keeps the visit as a journey you can read afterwards — every page in order, with the basket and checkout steps marked on the page they happened on.
- Every visitor on the store now, with page, country, device and what referred them
- The journey per visitor: shop, product, basket, checkout, order
- The page a shopper filled their basket from, so you know which product went in
- Session replay of a single visit on paid plans and during the trial
The funnel, the orders and the baskets nobody finished
The Store dashboard turns the same events into the numbers a shop runs on: how many visits became product views, baskets and orders, with the drop at each step; each sale as it lands with its value and the order number WooCommerce printed; and the baskets people walked away from, worth what was in them. Shops that price per market get totals kept apart per currency rather than added together.
- Visits, product views, baskets and orders, with the drop at every step
- Orders as they land, with the value and the printed order number
- Abandoned baskets with what was left behind and how far the shopper got
- Totals per currency for stores selling into several markets
What the plugin sends, and what the script already sees
There is no second WooCommerce plugin. Modovisa Analytics on WordPress.org is the install. The tracking script recognises product, cart and checkout pages on its own, so those steps fill the funnel without extra plugin events. On the thank-you page the plugin adds what the script cannot invent: the order amount, the currency, the store's order id and the printed order number shoppers see on the confirmation. When the id and the printed number differ, both are sent.
- Product, cart and checkout views from the script — no extra plugin events on those pages
- Thank-you sends amount, currency, order id and the printed order number
- The funnel starts as soon as tracking is live, even before the first paid order
- A header snippet is only needed if you skip the plugin
Installing from WordPress.org
Sign up for a free Modovisa account, add your WooCommerce site and copy the tracking token. Install Modovisa Analytics from the WordPress.org plugin directory, activate it and paste the token. Load the storefront and confirm you appear in the live view — that round trip is the verification. The written WordPress guide has the same steps, plus what to exclude if a caching or delay-JS plugin is in the way. Theme updates do not wipe the token because it lives in plugin settings, not header.php.
Where the orders came from, and what the ads cost
Traffic arrives tagged, so paid, organic, email and social are separated without you configuring anything: Standard adds the UTM tables to the dashboard, Growth adds the Campaigns workspace with goals, a link builder and campaign protection, and Pro Lite adds Ads Connect, which pulls Meta and Google Ads spend in so return on ad spend sits next to your own order data instead of in a spreadsheet.
What a shop gets on each plan
The funnel is on every plan, Free included. The live side — shoppers in a basket or a checkout right now, orders as they land and abandoned baskets — comes with Growth, with the signup trial, or with the 21-day Store trial that a Free or Standard shop gets once. After that trial the funnel keeps reading the last week on Free and the last month on Standard. Cart nudge, the on-site discount banner, uses the same Growth or Store-trial gate. Session replay of a visit is page-by-page, on paid plans and during the trial. It is the same plugin, the same script and the same event allowance whichever plan you are on. Free covers 5,000 events a month on one site with 30 days of history; Standard is $14.99 for 25,000 events and 5 sites.
Privacy, consent and your store's data
Modovisa is first-party: your storefront reports to your own workspace, not to an ad network, and there is no advertising profile built from it. The plugin adds nothing to your pages beyond the tracking script. Retention is 30 days on Free and unlimited on paid plans, a Data Processing Agreement is published for teams that need one on file, and deactivating the plugin or deleting a site removes collection rather than hiding it. Modovisa does not send cart-recovery email and does not collect customer addresses for messaging — that stays with WooCommerce and your email tool.
Next to WooCommerce Analytics and GA4
WooCommerce and Google Analytics report after the fact. Modovisa is for the visit while it is still happening, and for the order identity your thank-you page already knows.
| WooCommerce / GA4 | Modovisa | |
|---|---|---|
| When you see it | Reports after the session ends | Live visitors, live baskets, orders as they land |
| Product-to-purchase funnel | Possible with extra setup | On every plan, including Free |
| Order on the thank-you page | Woo order list; GA4 needs a purchase event | Amount, currency and printed order number from the plugin |
| Abandoned baskets | Usually a separate email plugin | Named baskets with value on Growth, trial or Store trial |
| Session replay | Not in WooCommerce Analytics | Page-by-page on paid plans and during the trial |
| Campaign ROAS | Strong in GA4 with Google Ads | First-party UTMs, Campaigns, Ads Connect |
Who this page is for
A WooCommerce shop you run yourself
See who is in a basket or checkout now, match the named sale to the number WooCommerce printed, and read the drop between product and pay.
An agency watching a client checkout
Install the same WordPress.org plugin, paste the client's token, and watch the store without waiting on a shared GA4 property.
Paid traffic you need to judge today
UTMs arrive with the visit. Growth adds the Campaigns workspace; Pro Lite pulls Meta and Google spend in next to your own orders.
A content site that added a shop
The WordPress page covers posts and caching. This page is the store view — funnel, thank-you totals and abandoned baskets — without a second plugin.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a separate WooCommerce plugin?
No. Modovisa Analytics on WordPress.org is the install for WordPress and for WooCommerce. There is no second marketplace listing. You still need a free Modovisa account and the tracking token from your dashboard.
What does the thank-you page send?
The plugin sends the order amount, the currency, the store's order id and the printed order number shoppers see on the confirmation. When the id and the printed number differ, both are sent. Product, cart and checkout pages are recognised by the script and do not send extra plugin events.
Will I see the order number my store printed?
Yes. The printed number — the #1021 on the confirmation email — arrives with the sale, so you can match it in WooCommerce admin. That is the difference between a traffic chart and a store you can actually run.
Is the funnel on the Free plan?
Yes. Visits through to completed orders are on every plan, including Free. Free covers 5,000 events a month on one site. Live shoppers, named sales and abandoned baskets stay on Growth, the signup trial, or the 21-day Store trial that Free and Standard shops get once.
Do I get abandoned-basket emails?
No. Modovisa reports the baskets people walked away from and lets you watch the visit back on paid plans and during the trial. It does not collect customer email addresses or send recovery mail. WooCommerce and your email tool own that relationship.
Is session replay available on the Free plan?
Session replay is included on every paid plan and throughout the 21-day trial. After the trial the Free plan keeps live tracking and journeys, without replay, until you upgrade.
Will it slow the store down?
The tracker is a single small async script, so it never blocks rendering, and it is built to survive optimisation plugins that defer or combine scripts — the usual cause of a store undercounting its own traffic. Exclude the Modovisa script from delay-JS plugins.
How is this different from WooCommerce Analytics or GA4?
WooCommerce and GA4 report on orders and sessions after the fact. Modovisa is about the visit while it is happening and the path through it — who is here, what they have in a basket, where the drop is, and which campaign produced the order, with the printed order number on the sale.
Which plan does a store need?
One page view is one event, and a shop is a few pages per visit. A store doing a few hundred sessions a day usually fits Standard, $14.99 a month for 25,000 events; heavier traffic points to Growth at $29.99 for 100,000, which is also where live shoppers and abandoned baskets stay switched on. Free covers 5,000 events on one site.
