Shopify visitor tracking with Modovisa

See who is in your store right now, which products they are looking at, and where checkout loses them — in real time, without building a GA4 property tree first.

Why store owners run Modovisa on Shopify

Ecommerce questions are usually about the last ten minutes, not last month. Modovisa answers those: who is on site now, what they came from, which collection or product page they are on, and whether they moved toward checkout or stalled.

Installing on Shopify

Two supported paths. Install the Modovisa app from the Shopify App Store and it wires the script and token for you, or paste the snippet into your theme's layout file if you prefer to manage code yourself. Either way you verify the same way: open your storefront, then watch yourself appear in the live view.

Understanding checkout drop-off

Journeys tell you where visitors stop; replay tells you why. Pair the two on a paid plan and a vague "cart abandonment problem" usually resolves into something specific — a shipping-rate surprise, a discount field that rejects a code, a payment step that looks broken on one mobile browser.

Connecting ad spend to store revenue

Standard adds UTM tables to the dashboard so paid traffic is separated from organic. Growth adds the Campaigns workspace with goals, a link builder and campaign protection. Pro Lite adds Ads Connect, which imports Meta and Google Ads spend over OAuth so ROAS sits next to first-party traffic instead of in a spreadsheet.

Privacy and store data

Modovisa is first-party analytics: your storefront reports to your workspace. Retention is 30 days on Free and unlimited on paid plans. A Data Processing Agreement is available at /legal/dpa, and account and data deletion is self-serve.

Plans and limits

Free is $0 for 1,000 events a month on one site with 30 days of history. Standard is $14.99 for 25,000 events, Growth $29.99 for 100,000, and Pro Lite $49.99 and up for 250,000+ — paid plans include unlimited sites and unlimited retention.

Frequently asked questions

Does Modovisa track Shopify checkout?

It tracks the pages your storefront serves, including the journey into checkout. Shopify restricts scripts on some checkout steps depending on your plan, so treat checkout coverage as partial unless you are on Shopify Plus.

Is session replay available on the Free plan?

Session replay is included on every paid plan and throughout the 21-day trial. After the trial the Free plan keeps live tracking and journeys, without replay, until you upgrade.

How is this different from Shopify's own analytics?

Shopify reports on orders and sessions after the fact. Modovisa focuses on live visitor behaviour and campaign attribution — who is on site now, the path they are taking, and which ad spend produced them.

How many events does a store use?

One page view is one event. A store doing a few hundred sessions a day usually fits Standard's 25,000 events; heavier traffic or many pages per visit points to Growth.
